Welcome to CanKan Motivation - Finding your CanKan attitude. Here we are at week 1 - day 1, the week I am dedicating to the inner you. I want this week to be all about reestablishing ourself. I want to take the next 7 days to start by building ourselves from the inside and bringing back the smile to our face. You know that smile. The smile you have not due to things, people, accomplishments and so on, but that smile that was just there due to being a happy you. Remember this is a 30 days to a happier you and this is only week one.
Remember the story of the little train that could. Yes, I know you are smirking, if not giggling and nodding your head yes. Well that story was all about a train who had to believe in himself and find his self confidence before he could reach the top. It is really honestly is a metaphor for the human mind. For each of us to reach the top, the best we can be we must believe in ourselves and have self confidence.
We all go through ups and downs; highs and lows. this is something that happens not once, not twice but several times through out our lives. We will all go through blue periods, have moments we find ourselves depressed, for my girls out their that just had a baby - postpartum, or you may find yourself down due to sadness, heartache, loss, divorce, break-ups, all the things that would cause us to lose ourselves, our worth, our self-esteem and throw us into a slump. It is just a fact of life for every up there is a down. It is how we handle ourselves in that down that will determine just how fast we pick ourselves back up.
The things I am sharing with you are things I have personally done and used in the past to get back to me. These projects and ideas are ones I used to rediscover the me I thought and felt I lost. I also used them to pick myself back up and get going to full speed again and back on my path.
Now you may be asking why I am doing this. Well, once again I have found myself in a slump. I am not the me I need to be nor should be. I am in a blue period along with a bit of postpartum. I have always been an optimistic person, but even the biggest optimist can find themselves questioning life and it's reasons. With that being said, as I go through reestablishing the me I know I am and get to where I know I can be. I am going to not only share this journey but hope in the process I may be able to do what I do best, Help others in finding their CanKan attitude. So lets get to it.
Day one - Create a From Me To You board
This is a board that you are dedicating to you. It is a reminder to yourself of who you are, what you are and will help in your personal view of yourself. For this project I personally used just the cork board. I will be using the option that I will be showing for another project later on. You are more than welcome to do either. Now you could always go out and buy what we are making but that would defeat the purpose. There is no better feeling than to create something for ones self and this is about doing for you and making you a better you. Sometime even the smallest thing we do for ourselves can work wonders.
*First I went to my local Walmart and bought cork board $6, pins $3, ribbon $1. I already had scissors, paper, pen and markers.The cork board comes 4 to a pack and supplies it's own double sided sticky tape.
**NOTE ** - I personally tho would suggest investing in an alternative sticky tape such as Command removable double sided sticky strips. The ones that came with the cork board seemed to be a bit hard to use and for some could be frustrating. And we do not want frustration.

First get a panel of cork board, your scissors, ribbon and your pins
Second lay your ribbon on the cork board and decide on a design. I personally choose a diamond pattern. Then cut ribbon to length.
Now you are going to fold over the ends. This is to insure that if you hang anything or pin anything on the From Me To You board using the ribbon the ribbon will not rip and split off the pin. Once folded you will pin to the outer edge, tack and repeat in the form of your design. Now for the first half of pinning you will not push the pin in all the way due to you will be pinning a second end with the same pin. You will push pins completely in at the end.

**A special note to moms**
If you have Children this is also something you can have a helper or have them do with you for themselves.
You can do like my daughter did and leave it like the last photo, just ribbon the corners or keep going like I did. Now I will go back and tighten up the ribbon later as well as straighten it out. But I wanted to give you and example, But I promise I will post the picture of the edited board when we come to the project I will be using my board on.
Now I want you to take the board, place the double sided tape on the back, take it into your bathroom and place it on your wall where you are able to see and view it every day easily. This to me is like when you look in the mirror and look at your reflection. Your reflection looks back at you. This board is a mirror, a mirror of positive self reflection in words. Ladies, please feel free to add pins to the side and use it as a place to hang some jewelry allowing you to further decorate it and give it your touch. Guys if you wear rings and necklaces you can do the same as well. The reason I am saying the bathroom is because this is the place we go to first thing in the morning, where we get ready and the last place you go before bed. I have found that the bathroom is the best placement and allows this board to work the way it is intended best.
Next you are going to title your board From Me To You and pin it at the top then I want you to get a piece of paper, pencil, marker, crayon, something to write with. I want you to Think of and say something wonderful about yourself, write it on a piece of paper and pin it to the board. Each day we are going to do this and each day we are going to read these. Day ones saying for me is - You are beautifully unique.
This completes Day one. I am so looking forward to tomorrow and I so hope you continue to follow and enjoy. Remember no matter how bad yesterday, the day before or today was, tomorrow is a new day. It is up to you and from me to you to become the best you and find your CanKan attitude.
